Despite adverse conditions Darell, Dave and Mick managed to put down the lines. Dave and Mick seemed to be quite at home in these conditions but Darell needed to seek shelter.

Our new season opening is on Saturday 17th September 2017

1pm for a 1.30 start

Please wear uniform and please bring a plate to share for afternoon tea

Weather permitting, the green is open for practice on Wednesday and Friday afternoon

There are a number of partially completed jobs that need to be completed prior to the season starting:

  1. Paving and drain in front of the new shed. Pavers and drain are on site
  2. Rehang the side gate adjacent to the new shed
  3. Finish the east retaining wall
  4. Build the west retaining wall with granite blocks and concrete sleepers after Phil Mawson has installed the posts for the new fence on the west side. Phil is expected to be on site next week. Granite blocks and sleepers are on site
Please let any of the Building and grounds committee know if you can help , and work out a suitable time

What’s happening at Harcourt Bowling Club?

It may be the off season but there is plenty going on.

The kitchen is looking great, the new shed is complete, insulation installed in the roof and solar panels fixed in position and ready to be connected.

New shading is due around the green and you will notice that the seats around the green have been given a spruce up and look great in the club colours.
The green is being treated to rid it of the moss that has become a problem.

A great effort by all of the Harcourt Bowling Club pennant teams! This year saw four of the five teams in the finals and one each of the Midweek and Weekend Pennant teams playing off in the Grand Final.  Although we weren’t successful in our bid for a flag, the Club was well represented by the efforts of all of the pennant teams.

Our thanks go to the Selection Committees for the unenviable tasks they carried out all year in ensuring that sides were filled.

Special thanks to the team of volunteers led by Green Keeper Ron Douglas, who prepared and maintained our green so that we had a quality surface to play on.

On Friday 16th December President John Starbuck presented Inaugural Volunteer awards to three of the club volunteers for outstanding service to the Club. Worthy recipients of the Awards were  Ron Douglas, Darrell Normington and Russell Timmins. Congratulations and thank you to all!
